the pure core organic life mirror

oatmeal is a delicious, nutritious, simple to make food that is great in the morning for breakfast, or at night for a wholesome desert... there are a myriad of good things you can add to it, and its just as good plain... most of the time, we enjoy it with a little edensoy and a few drops of liquid stevia - other combinations include:

  • tahini, chopped raw apples, and raisins
  • organic vegan buttery spread with maple syrup
  • with apple sauce and a sprinkle of plain gomasio
  • cooked with raisins and cinnamon, seasoned with stevia and soymilk
  • with a little organic coconut oil, raisins, and soymilk
how to cook rolled oats

add 1 part oats to 2 1/2 parts water (or 3 parts water of you like a looser oatmeal) and a few sprinkles / pinches of sea salt to a pot... bring to a boil on medium high heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking or burning - then bring the heat down to low, stir, cover, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes (or until it is tender enough), stirring occassionally... remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes - serve... (if possible, purchase your oats from a store or a co-op in bulk - most bulk grains come in paper bags, which are reusable and recyclable - and find a friend to share them with!)
